Innovative gourmet and traditional Tuscan fare
When Torcicoda opened, our menu was divided into 2 types of cuisines: Innovative Gourmet and Traditional Tuscan fare. In the Spring of 2018, we refined our vision by unifying the two concepts and offering a selection of what we believe to be our best dishes. When you visit us you can taste traditional dishes such as an antipasto of cured Tuscan meats and cheeses, potato filled ‘tortelli Mugellani’, carbonara pasta and the famous Florentine steak. For those who are a little more adventurous we also offer a variety of original dishes as well. An alternative appetizer favorite is the ‘marinated tuna’ that is made in house by cooking the tuna at low temperature in olive oil and served with hummus, onion and vinegar. Standouts also include our take on the the famous Roman pasta dish ‘spaghetto cacio e pepe’ pasta with the addition of raw prawns from Mazzara del Vallo; grilled scallops served with celeriac cream and Campari reduction; and a filet seasoned with green peppercorns served alongside charcoal grilled American sweet potatoes. Desserts are all homemade in-house by our pastry chef and offer the same dual philosophy. The menu includes the most loved Italian desserts such as tiramisu made with real savoiardi, Florentine ‘zuccotto’, and layered puff pastry espresso cake. For those wishing to try something new, we recommend our hazelnut crème brulee with caramelized pistachios or our decomposed cheesecake made with fresh yogurt sourced from the Palagiaccio farm just outside of Florence.
